Life is a journey. Therapy is a way to receive support and guidance during the times you may need a non-judgmental and neutral person to listen. This kind of support and help can help you to develop strategies when dealing with difficult issues.
I am Lisa Higgins, LPC, my goal is to form a relationship that contributes to the overall wellness of the individual. My approach is client centered and the focus is on the needs of the individual, family and/or couple.
Issues that are difficult to manage are unavoidable. Throughout our lives, we will need a safe and healthy outlet. Therapy is an excellent resource and can serve that purpose.
Issues that are difficult to manage are unavoidable. Throughout our lives, we will need a safe and healthy outlet. Therapy is an excellent resource and can serve that purpose.
I have worked with individuals and couples, who are dealing with a number of issues. My areas of practice are couples work, trauma, education and career decisions, leadership and management conflicts, parenting, anxiety, depression, stress management, relationships, family relations and life transitions. My goal is to positively impact your personal journey and support you as you manage stressors in your life.
I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Central Connecticut State University. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Connecticut and an 092 certification from Sacred Heart in Educational Leadership.
My role is to meet you where you are and walk with you on this path toward healing. Together, we can explore what has you feeling stuck or overwhelmed and find ways for you to meet your challenges. Whether I work with you individually, or help you explore ways to better communicate and find greater fulfillment in your relationship, I am eager to help you sort through the messiness of life and support you in finding a little bit of order in what you may feel is chaos.
If you’re a parent, I also work with school-aged children, tweens, teens and emerging adults to help them sort through their own difficulties. Growing up can be challenging and often stressful. Sometimes, you may find your child needs support that extends beyond immediate family. I’m here to help you with that.
If you, you and your partner, or your child is struggling, feel free to reach out to me, and I would be happy to discuss how we can work together to help you find peace, comfort and to live the life you deserve.
