I believe in the mind, body, spirit connection. Combined, these three elements are at the core of our overall health. Fueling our mind, body, and spirit with what it needs is essential for recovery. I believe recovery is possible and everyone is deserving of recovery. Therapy can be a safe place where you can share, explore, and discover new aspects of yourself. And with a little guidance, your perspective of things can shift, new discoveries can be made, and recovery can be possible.
I am here to help support and guide you toward your goals and your path of recovery. I provide a warm, safe, and relaxed environment where you can explore the deepest parts of yourself. Together, we can work toward achieving your goals and move closer towards recovery. I believe that a good therapeutic relationship consists of building trust, and I will be honored to be part of your journey.
I specialize in eating disorders and have helped those that suffer to overcome obstacles and reach their goals with support. I have experience in treating Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorders, Purging Disorders, Compulsive Eating, ARFID, Other Specified Eating Disorder (OSFED), Compulsive Exercise, Orthorexia, Body Dysmorphia and Body Image Issues. I work with adolescents, adults of all ages, and families. I have experience working in hospital settings for both eating disorders and mental health. I have worked in partial hospital programs and intensive outpatient programs for eating disorders, as well as outpatient practices for eating disorders.
Moreover, I have helped others to recognize their self-worth and values, increase their self-esteem, and regain a positive relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves, and helped them to achieve their goals. I can help create motivation for change, challenge cognitive distortions that you may have, and help you increase distress tolerance, and emotional regulation strategies. I will also collaborate with other providers that may be involved in your care. My treatment approach is individualized to each client. We will discover what works best so that you can optimize success in achieving your goals.
I work from a framework of Health AT Every Size (HAES) and All Foods Fit Models to help individuals form a positive relationship with food. I have done extensive work with others in working towards body neutrality, body acceptance, and body positivity.
Although, working with eating disorders is my passion and my niche, I have other areas of interest and practice, including, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, PTSD, mood issues, behavioral issues, self-harm/suicidal ideation, LGBTQ, life changes, and various others. I can offer individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy.
My therapeutic approach and modalities I incorporate are a mix of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and Expressive Arts.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who graduated from Fordham University School of Social Work in 2012 with a Master of Social Work and have over 15 years of experience in the field. I am licensed in both Connecticut and Florida.
