Life is not a straightforward or smooth path. It is because of this reality about life that we sometimes encounter challenges and problems as we move on in life. The challenges or problems cause us stress, anxiety, depression, or demotivate us to carry on living. We all have experienced or could be experiencing one or more of these at different phases of our lives. If you ever feel that you are not experiencing or enjoying your life the way you had envisioned it and feel anxious or stressed about it, please do not hesitate to reach out for support. You are not alone! Professional Counselors who listen and support you in a non-judgmental way, will work with you through your issues.
I have extensive work experience of over 20 years in human services. I have worked with diverse populations and supported many clients of diverse cultural and racial backgrounds in different agencies within the USA and other countries. I have also worked with different age categories from adolescents to adults. Other clients include families, and couples.
The issues I have dealt with are, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment, self-esteem, parenting, marital, domestic abuse/intimate partner violence, and relocation and immigration. My goal in therapy is to ensure that a client’s issues are managed well, and a positive outcome is achieved.
I use client-centered approach and apply interventions such as; Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Strength-Based Approach. These strategies and interventions enable a great work relationship between the client and therapist, and ensures client wellness throughout the treatment process.
I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and another Master’s Degree in Development Studies. I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (Sociology, Public Policy and Administration, and Gender and Women Studies).
